Audio hiss from 2000 - still on 2100??
Subject says it all,
Very interested in this camera but also in good audio. Is the hiss really fixed now? I remember a figure of 6dB improvement - but numbers are misleading - i'd just like to know whether any hiss or distortion is still evident. NB, i'll be using the beachtek dxa6 box with it.. so i'll have xlr inputs.. furthermore, the mic will be no where near the camera so it won't be picking up camera noise. thanks alot guys

Look at the next thread, we've been discussing this in some detail. The trick is to keep the manual gain on the camera as low as possible. the VX's downfall is it's preamp. The thread is "Frustration with Mikes for VX2000...Help!" No sense in duplicating a lot of work.
