Agc
When outputting my DV from my NLE to my PD170 via firewire, I'd like to bypass the automatic gain control and set my volume levels manually. Is that possible? If so, how do I go about it?

The only time the AGC circuit is in use (or not depending on your settings) is when you are actually recording with the camera. The camera settings have absolutely no effect when recording from firewire.

Is ther a way to reduce the volume then? It's recording the signal too hot. I want to reduce it about 6 db.

Why not do that in the NLE?
