Stopping the vx2000 from going in standby mode
How do I stop the vx2000 from going in standby mode
I use my camera connected to my Sony laptop so I’m not constantly pushing the camera record button. The camera we’ll stay on for approximately five minutes before it automatically turns itself off. I think it turns off so record head does not get damaged by the tape. |

With tape loaded and the tape door closed, you cannot stop the shut-down other than rolling tape more frequently than every 5 minutes. If you don't load tape or leave the tape door open that should stop the shutdown.
That's one of the reasons I purchased the PD-150. It stops the drum but leaves the camera on which is what the on-the-shoulder cameras act. It just takes a bit longer to start when you push the record button. There is no reason Sony could not have added that feature to the VCX-2000 except it was a marketing decision.
