VX "withdrawn from the market" in Australia
An Aussie related this on another forum. He had
gone to purchase one and this is what the dealer told him. Wonder why? |

This might have something to do with it although the Aussie Sony site still lists the VX2100.
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/...191381789.html When I bought my PD150 here 18mths ago it cost NZ$9000, the VX2000 was $NZ8999. PDX10's are also cheaper than TRV950's. |

In New Zealand, Sony (But not only them) have always been a rip off. Sony here have a pretty captive market from what I've seen and so do the resellers. Maybe it's to do with the low stock turnover or the fact there are few pro merchants around. That's why I buy most of my gear from the US now. It's just so much cheaper generally.

i must agree with aaron...
prices down here are ridiculous... which is what made me look overseas (singapore) for a camera... no joke, over here and NZ, not only are we paying the exchange rate, but were also paying addition GST's/VAT's sales taxes etc etc even duties and import taxes.. then the retailer bumps the price and .... its crazy all up we pay anything between 40 to 60% more than everyone else.. |
