PD170 audio questions....
Just spending the first few hours tinkering with my new PD170...LOVE it so far! Anyway I first noticed sound was only coming out of the left channel so I changed it to Channel 1 & Channel 2 setting. I couldn't adjust the audio and found you have to turn off AGC (automatic gain control?). But then I could only raise the left channel. I then went and changed it to "locked" or whatever setting allows you to move channel 1 and 2 levels simultaneously.
-Are all of these things I did correct? -Must you set the input for Ch1 & 2 for the stock mic to get sound out of both channels? -How good is the AGC? Can I shoot something unscripted like a wedding and be ok? Also...if I DO set AGC...at what volume levels will it try to balance and keep the audio within? -Lastly is there any way to keep the audio bars on the screen at all times without being in the "audio level" menu overlay? |

-Are all of these things I did correct? When you have both channels set to manual, you push in on the level control to switch between channels. -Must you set the input for Ch1 & 2 for the stock mic to get sound out of both channels? Yes -How good is the AGC? Can I shoot something unscripted like a wedding and be ok? Also...if I DO set AGC...at what volume levels will it try to balance and keep the audio within? Set once channel to AGC, the other to manual and set it at about 25%. -Lastly is there any way to keep the audio bars on the screen at all times without being in the "audio level" menu overlay? -- At least on the 150, the menu overlay, after you push the button, goes back to the standard display. If you want to see the data, push the menu button. >>>
