Question about PD150's Viewfinder and LCD screen
Hi all. I'm still going through the old old XL1s vs PD150 thing and have a couple of questions regarding the viewfinder and lcd screen. (I know this is a VX2000 forum but I've seen PD150 posts here;) )
Does the Viewfinder or LCD screen underscan, or do you get the full frame shown in it? Does the PD150 offer the 16:9 aspect ratio bars on the viewfinder so you can frame for 16:9. I don't mean the 16:9 shooting mode - still mean 4:3 just curious about the bars, like the Xl1s has Cheers Aaron BTW: Overall the PD150 is coming out on tops so far...too bad it's about $1000 more expensive than an XL1s here in New Zealand :( (And it looks ugly too. hehe) |

Howdy from Texas,
I can't answer regarding the underscan or overscan, however, about the 16x9 guides, they are not in the camera *but* you can easily set up an overlay yourself with custom 16x9 guides using the Memory Stick. So, no problem in that regard. Hope this helps, |

Thanks Lou. One more thing, does the PD150 footage suffer from the same problem as the Xl1s where there are lines of black pixels along the bottom (or sides) of the resulting digitised image? This doesn't show up on a TV because of the underscan, but on computer it's easily seen.
Any info on this would be much appreciated. Even though the PD150 is a lot more expensive here in New Zealand than the Xl1s, I think that losing several lines of resolution because of black pixels is unacceptable, so if the PD150 doesn't suffer the same problem I think I will attempt to get enough money together to get that instead. |
