PD150 used to Videotape the finding of Saddam

I just thought some of you might enjoy this article:
http://news.com.com/2100-12_3-5125168.html?tag=nefd_top

"Basically what we're trained for is that the camera is our first weapon," he said, with a laugh suggesting he had his own ideas. "And then our attack weapon is secondary to the camera. But there comes a point where you have to make a choice. Me personally, I try to do both. We're lucky enough to carry pistols. It gives you some more protection. You can shoot and shoot at the same time."

Wow, you're not going to believe this...but, when I saw the news footage I said to my girlfriend "that was shot with a PD-150, I can tell".

I was right!

Almost all of the cameras used from the embeds to the cameraman for your basic reports are PD150s.

Is there actually any footage of GIs pulling Saddam up from the hole? I've only seen shots of Saddam's health inspection, and video taken of his hiding spot the following day.

An actual video of finding Saddam and pulling him out would be a stunning contribution to the historical record, on par with the Zapruder film or the video of Armstrong stepping off the ladder of the Eagle. There has never been any first-hand documentation of the capture of a tyrant, not even the relatively recent arrest of Milosevic, as far as I'm aware.

I thought the same thing when I saw the footage originally but I did in the back of my mind know there are many PD-150's floating around filming events so it was probaly that that swayed me that way.

A stunning contribution? A stunning contribution would have been the prevention of this psycho coming to power in Iraq. A stunning contribution would have been NOT giving him money to fight Iran in the 80's. Pulling him out of a hole in the ground really doesn't contribute anything to history or humanity. He's not the first, he won't be the last. And we will never learn.

Word. I think the revolution still will not be televised. Sorry. Hussein is a symptom, not the cause.
