VX2100 and older versions of Premiere

Is anyone using a VX2100 sucessfully with older versions of Premiere, 5.1-6.5?

The problem is footage shot and captured using a GL1 doesn't export cleanly to the VX2100. To me it sounds like a compatability issue between the older Premiere version and the new VX2100. Similar problems were experienced when the XL1s and GL2 were released anad I have a feeling this could be the same. I just want to make sure.

I know that older versions of Premiere could not handle DV good
or at all. Basically it should work with 6 and higher, but, as you
have pointed out, you never know for sure.

Are you getting the new VX2100? Doesn't it have little new stuff
over the older VX2000?

I never had any problems going out in Premiere 5.1c but that was using a DV500 capture card and not just Premiere it's self.

Nah, I'm not getting a new camera yet. Someone else is having the problem and i'm just trying to help him out. I've gone as far as I can with generic DV troublshooting so I though maybe someone who has one of the new cams might have some ideas.

I'm pretty sure the 5 range of Premiere DID NOT support the
native Microsoft DV driver and thus the generic firewire cards
out there. Ofcourse, cards like the DV500 had their own premiere
drivers so it would work with DV.

I think you need 6 to get reliable DV from generic firewire (OHCI)
cards and the Microsoft DV driver!

I'm pretty sure the problem isn't related to the IO card but to Premiere outputting to the VX2100. He can capture OK but when outputting to the VX it comes out garbled with dropped frames, to the GL1 it's OK though.

Did you set up the device options correctly (ie, for the VX2000)
in Premiere?
