vx2000 distortion at DVinfo.net

Hello,

When recording especially in lp mode I notice distortion/warp along the left edge of the frame.
This doesn't appear to happen in SP mode (at least not yet). I record to sony tapes and I'm sure that this is probably a wear and tear problem that will only get worst. Does anyone know what causes this problem or what would need to be repaired to correct it?

This is why you're never supposed to use LP mode.
