Major Panic With Audio - Help!
Argh! I need help, and fast. I am using a VX2000 to tape a wedding. 2 weeks ago it worked fine and now it's acting up. I am using the onboard mic as well as a cordless mic. I can see the audio meter recognizing a signal, but when I play back in VCR mode I hear nothing. I also don't hear anything at the time of taping on my earphones plugged into the camera.
I'm in need of help, and FAST! Please somebody help me troubleshoot! |

First of all, and I'm sure you know this, but, you can't use the onboard mic at the same time as an aux mic. That said, check the volume control on the side of the lcd flipout. This controls the camera ext speaker, and the headphone volume. I have gone nuts a couple of times trying to figure out why I couldn't hear anything.

It worked. I had a GL2 at home to help me troubleshoot. Who would have thought that the volume on the flip out screen was the problem. Thanks a million, Harry...everything is working fine now.

If it's any consolation Brian, you're not the first to get flustered by this and you sure won't be the last. Remember folks, if all else fails - and I mean if all else fails, read the instructions.
