Anybody knows about the new SONY PRO models?
Will the PD 150 soon be replaced?

I have no insider info on this but I contacted Sony UK today to enquire about a new lens hood for my PD150. I gave them the part number and was quoted £71.08 (ouch!). However, the operator then said something along the lines of "Oh, that's for the VX2000 - I can do you a deal on that", and knocked it down to £47.00. One of the other spares I enquired about was VX2000/PD150 specific and that too was knocked down in price. Not to mention I picked up a 2nd hand PD150 in decent condition for 1/5 of the UK list price from a national UK chain last week...

There was a story posted on several boards right after NAB and attributed to a Sony employee. He claimed that Sony was not in any rush to replace the PD-150 because sales were strong and it there was a waiting list of dealers. He said to expect a replacement sometime after the first of the year, before the next NAB.

But a week or so later, Sony vehemently denied that any employee had made such a claim..
