TRV240 power problem
My friend owns a Sony DCR-TRV240 which does not function anymore. The camera won't power on whether it's plugged in or the battery is inserted. The last time the camera worked OK was when my friend was trying to watch some of his home videos; then suddenly the power went off, and the camera has not been responsive ever since. Both the power adapter and the battery do work. I tried to reset the camera but at no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

If you're sure the power adaptor and the battery are OK then there may be a blown internal fuse of some sort. Unfortunately I think you will need to send the camera to an authorized Sony repair center to have this sort of problem fixed.

Boyd, thank you for replying.
(In case you happen to know of an authorized Sony repair center near/in Bloomfield, NJ, please let me know.) Thanks again!
