Dead pixel on CCD - what to doo ?!
Hi!
Recently I have noticed a dead pixel on my footage. Camera is 11 months old, never had an issue with it. One month warranty left. Does warranty covers dead pixels on CCD or one should tolerate a few ? Should I send it for repair ? What would they do with it, I doubt they would change CCD because 1 dead pixel ?! I heard something abouth "pixel remapping", fixing dead pixel with software tool; maybe they will fix mine in that manner ?! Looking forward for your answer ! |

Which camera do you have Marko? The TRV-950 comes from Sony's consumer division, but the PDX-10 comes from Sony's professional division and people report much better service from them. I suspect you'll get a different reaction based on which camera you own.
For starters you can enter your model number on this website: http://eservice.sony.com/webrma/web/index.do However I'm not sure this is the correct place to go for service in your country. You might check with the dealer who sold you the camera to see if they can point you in the right direction. |

Thanks for the reply Boyd.
I have the TRV-950. I'll check with my dealer about warranty. |
