pdx10 950 aperture

How the heck do I adjust my f-stops?

Is there a way?

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks

There's a little knurled wheel on the side of the camera. First you put the slider in the middle position, then select shutter speed, then exposure. The pointer that moves along the bar at the top of the viewfinder shows you roughly how wide your diaphragm blades are, how much ND has been applied and how much gain-up has been applied.

ok

So it doesn't actually say you have an fstop of _ _ _ _? You just have to make an educated guess as to where you're at?

Just so. I hate to sound repetitive, but Sony made a DVCAM mistake here I feel, leaving the manual exposure settings to guesswork. And don't think you can rewind and push 'display' later, for the aperture readout isn't the truth.

Mighty fine pictures though.

At least in theory the center position of the scale is F4.0 with each click 1/2 f-stop (or 3dB gain boost at the low end)
