Audio Mode

Do you record in 12-bit mode or in 16-bit? What gives the best result? The 16-bit? - or why prefer the 12-bit?

This has been covered various times if you do a search. But I think the only attraction to using 12 bit mode is that you can record 4 channels but with a corresponding loss of quality.
