Taking Stills
I frequently take stills from video clips and stretch them over 2-6 seconds. Sometimes it fits the storyline better. Frequently, I can't find a 2-6 second segment that conveys the right meaning.
Since the PDX10 doesn't support frame or progressive modes, has anyone had success using stills from the 60i mode? Thanks, David P.S. I user Vegas Video for editing. |

Here's a page of 60i frame grabs from the PDX-10. They were exported from Final Cut Pro as high quality JPEG's, but not deinterlaced or otherwise processed. The 720x480 anamorphic 16:9 images were stretched to 854x480 in Photoshop.
These are just individual video frames. Of course you could also use the still photo mode on the PDX-10 and save images to either memory stick or tape, however I've never tried that. |

The video test had over 400 lines of resolution. Very good for an interlaced image.
On the other had, many of the images had problems with their dynamic range. In the Saint Joan celebration and on the beach The bright whites underexposed faces and shadows. |
