pdx10 audio problem while taking a line feed

i know the all the best greeting is late but i haven't been around much and unfortunately it takes a problem to get me back here

my PDX10 has been working great no probs

recently though i realized i started hearing a whine through the shotgun mic sounding like the tape motor

i figured i just had the gain too high and i only picked this up during really quiet recordings so it didn't bother me too much

then the other day i did a shoot and received a feed from a mixer a line level feed i was running late so i really didint check properly but noticed that when i put the xlr cable in ch2 it would not pick up any signal on line setting but would give me a clean signal on the mic setting

today i had a shoot and again another line feed and again no audio on line setting i would get the audio on mic setting but too hot so i switched to mic att this helped but still plenty distortion

i percieved it may have been my mic cable so i switced that same problem

it seems to me that my pdx10 just wont accept line feeds any more in any channel

can anyone shed some light on this problem
