Sony HDR CX900 files convert or not
Question is for Mac Pro editors using PP CC and dealing with AVCHD footage.
Up until now we have just dropped the footage into XAVC timeline from PMW-300 or PMW-55 cameras since the CX 900 is only a few clips and we want to keep the other cameras at their native codec. We don’t think this is the best for the CX 900 footage. But now the camera is also being used on a web show and it is the primary camera on that show. We tried using the Sony PlayMemories software and importing to the computer and that has not worked well. The footage is full of artifacts and lags. So next we tired going to AVCHD folder from the camera and save the clip as QT, which has given us OK results. I am sure there must be a better way to get the most out of the camera. So we are looking for AVCHD experience editors to offer some suggestions? Converter software? There are a few on the market but I would rather have some constructive input if this is a good way to go? |
