Shogun Inferno and FS700R?
Anyone using it? Looks like some features are not implemented yet

Re: Shogun Inferno and FS700R?
Most important one for me is C4K HFR recording. I'm looking into this combo too, but they have to have the 4K HFR function working before I consider it.
Keep in mind the Inferno has no internal downscaler so you'll need to hook the output up to a AJA Downscaler (but first through a Teranex Mini 12G SDI to Quad SDI, but the unit should support HFR passthrough where the Odyssey cannot) |

Thank you much, Jack, I wasn't fully aware of the downscaling issue.

Re: Shogun Inferno and FS700R?
I've got a brand new Inferno sitting in my PO box - unfortunately it arrived the day I left for holidays, so it won't be till early next year that I actually get to put it through it's paces with my FS700.
Once I do, I'll be sharing my feedback/review in this thread here: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/atomos-n...n-inferno.html

Re: Shogun Inferno and FS700R?
With this camera and recorder, you very much have the image quality equivelent to the Sony FS7.
The FS7 uses the exact same sensor and 12bit raw sensor data protocol. The FS7 has, of course, a different body and internal h.264 CODEC. But if you are taking the 12bit raw sensor data off both and recording this to 10bit video?...same exact image quality. |

And of course with this combo you can make HDR videos. Here is the HDR (HLG) version of the above video:

Re: Shogun Inferno and FS700R?
Is a pity the Shogun Inferno lacks a timecode input (just like the FS700 itself lacks a timecode input!).
It is the one feature the Convergent Design Odyssey7Q+ has which I wish the Atomos recorders also had.
