Jitter with panning
Just got sony's fx 700 and when set to 24p fx there is significant annoying jitter with panning when I play it back through Sony's Vegas Pro 12 (set at 24P), Is anyone else having this issue. Thanks

Re: Jitter with panning
if its a fast pan, you're probably talking about strobing. if slowing down the pan fixes it, then that's it.

Re: Jitter with panning
Also check your shutter speed setting. If your shutter is faster than 1/48 that may be adding to your problem...

Re: Jitter with panning
Remember the seven second rule.
For any object crossing the width of the frame,it should take 7 seconds or more to be smooth in 24fps recording. Use 180º shutter (1/48). If following a car or a bicycle keep them in the same part of the frame as you pan and you will get a nice blurred back ground and a sharp moving object w/o strobing. Go out and experiment different panning speeds and come up with your own comfort zone. All rules are made to be broken and only suggestions.
