Question about CineGammas and knee with the FS700

Is it better to use CineGammas than to use knee? I read somewhere that when pushing dynamic range Cinegammas are more subtle then knee. If this is true how is knee disabled is this done automatically when switching over to CineGamma, by setting it to mode/automatic or selecting mode/manual and then leaving it at it's default settings which I'm assuming is Point 90% Slope 0? I use Cinegammas most of the time and then make fine adjustments in knees when needed.
