Old thread but thought I would post a couple shots of how I worked it out in case someone is looking for info.
Tried several things but just a long ARCA SWIS bar with a riser on one end worked out the best by far... rock solid not much extra weight.... I clamp the magic arm on when I move the whole set up. |

Hi
I used my 600mm Canon lens, but only with rails, as i use Odyssey7q, so the camera is just too heavy. This is heavy and cumbersome set for a blind, not intended for much walking around. |

I first tried big super telephoto lenses with a rails set up and found it so delicate it was scary even setting up so I switched to the ARCA bar and clamps system... now I can carry it around upside down by the solid aluminum bar without worries.
