New 4444 PIX 240 firmware and the FS700
Sound Device has just released a Free firmware upgrade:
12-bit, 4:4:4 capability and adds Apple ProRes 4444 recording from video sources over 3G-SDI. The firmware works with the Arri Alexa, Canon C500 and Sony F3... Will it work the Sony FS700? You can certainly use the new codec with the FS700 but there is no benefit since the FS700 outputs only 4:2:2 @ 8bit.

No that will be a whole different animal. When the firmware update comes out for the 4k recording it will be 12bit RAW.
Unfortunately it will be very unlikely the PIX240 will be able to record that signal.

I can confirm that it can not record the 60p signal from the FS700.
Whether it will be able to record the RAW signal remains to be seen.
