Wildlife on FS700
Birds and Dogs etc slomo autofocus test production FS700
I saw a post on another forum re wildlife lens choice for FS700. Some opted for a Canon 100-400 L. Some the 70-400mm a-mount Sony with a LA-EL2. I absolutely loved Andrew Youngs footage of the dog and kids playing with a pre-production model and some obvious time and effort. In debating if I would get the 70-400, I put the production Fs700 to the test with some birds and dogs in a dog park. Very quick and dirty (one button fcpx grading) but I think it was enough to know that is the lens for me. I has some issues with the metabones adapter, latest fw (v5) and the production Fs700 and iris control on supported lenses. Hope I get to the bottom of it, but it certainly helped steer me towards the sony lens. I'll post some more footage once I get the lens. I'm particularly keen to try getting these sulpher-crested cockatoos on the wing in a closeup, and getting that little whippet on a flyby. Thats a pretty good test of the slomo/ LA-EL2/70-400mm combination. |
