Weird FS-100 experience
Still love this camera and don't want to the let go, lol,
With that said, I was shooting today, and as it was recording, it suddenly rebooted itself, went through a "recovering data" process, then basically when back into camera mode... this was without my prodding it.. my hands were off. I caught everything fine up until it reboot, so of course I missed like 30 secs of what I was recording, but otherwise it was fine (not the end of the world). I have never seen this before. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end. :O |

Re: Weird FS-100 experience
My older 970 batteries, all at once, got to where they wouldn't stay connected to the FS-100. They would power it just fine, but once you tilted the camera to the side they would come disconnected and the camera would unceremoniously shut off. When you tilted it back, it would reconnect and boot back up. I assumed it was a camera problem (was happening, suddenly, with all the batteries). My newest battery worked just fine though. Got an alcohol swab and tried to clean the connections, and the little plastic clippy thing that holds them in there - both on the cam and the battery. No luck. Eventually ordered a few new 970 batteries (third party ones), and the problem is fixed. Never did figure out what was causing the issue, but new batteries fixed it.
