Is HDMI output still uncompressed when recording internally on SD cards?
Or is the camera sending AVCHD compressed signal out its HDMI output?
I understand that while in standby mode, the live output from HDMI is uncompressed 4:2:2. But wanted to make sure that it is still the case once the camera begins recording AVCHD on its SD cards. I am going to be using an external recorder for my main recordings, but if the HDMI output is always uncompressed 4:2:2 (wether recording internally or not) then I could record simultaneously internally and on the external recorder. This way I could use the internally recorded AVCHD files as proxies for offline. Thanks. Last edited by Amir Qureshi; February 6th, 2014 at 07:23 PM. |

The live video from the HDMI port is always uncompressed 4:2:2. When the camera is recording to the SD card the live video is the same as when its not recording.
