Advice for a good DOF lens with live Auto Focus?
Because I shoot myself a lot in my commercials I need a good lens capable of great DOF that also has live auto focus to focus on me. My Canon 24/70 is great but will only allow Manual focus with this camera and adapeter. Anybody have a good lens suggestion that would do the trick while allowing Live Auto focus?
Thanks much! |

Re: Advice for a good DOF lens with live Auto Focus?
By great depth of field do you mean more or less DOF? If more, just stop down. If you want really shallow, you need a lens that opens to at least a 2.8, but if your background is really close, like a small office, you'd probably want an f1.4. That means prime lenses, mostly, but Sigma recently announced a superfast f1.8 zoom. I don't know of any other zoom out there that's wider than a 2.8.
I've never used any auto focus with the FS100. I don't know if it will do that with any lens. If it does, it's probably going to be with one of the Sony lenses, but again I don't know for sure. |
