Audio linked in stereo
When I transfer my shots into FCP7, they're coming bonded together as stereo files.
Is there a setting that will change that, so that channel 1 and channel 2 come in as independent monaural files? Thanks

Re: Audio linked in stereo
Yes, but still a lot of extra steps. Unlink, then shift each track back to center channel. I've had a choice with other cameras.

Re: Audio linked in stereo
You're right it takes a little longer, but only a few clicks? Here's four possible methods.
None are automatic though... sorry if you already know this. 1. You can use the track tool to select everything on a track, unlink the whole lot, then use Control - . to make them all centred. 2. Make the master clip's audio centred in the viewer before you edit with it - setting the pan to zero, then unlink the audio channels once in the timeline. 3. Change the file properties in Quicktime player to dual mono, then re-save the file. 4. I expect this could also be Apple Scripted, or batch processed using that OSX atom thingy? Duncan.

Re: Audio linked in stereo
This may not be what you're looking for, but this might also work. Just select dual mono in your sequence settings like this:
