Re: anyone move to FS100 from Canon 5D
I have been thinking about making the switch from my 5D for a while now. One of my favorite things about the DSLR market is their size. Are there any smaller rigs out there for the fs100? All I have seen so far are pretty big.
Thanks, Chad Dyle |

Re: anyone move to FS100 from Canon 5D
The Zacuto Striker has been a flexible rig, from my 550D to the FS100. In its Shoulder Stock mode, it's a bit of a handful with the top viewfinder 'chimney'. However, as a minimal rig with just a short vertical rod to a handle under the FS100 body, it's far less fatiguing and a bit more steady to get hand held eye level shots in this sort of 'faux bolex' mode.
However, with an external recorder and an EVF, it's back to shoulder mounts. I have been looking for ages at the minimalist but tough Half Inch Rails design, but want to try it with the camera/recorder/EVF first.

Re: anyone move to FS100 from Canon 5D
I have been using the Zacuto Target Striker for a few years and I have been very happy with it. I have a 4 inch SmallLCD monitor that I might end up using with it. I just hate buying the camera and then spending another $1k plus to build a rig for it. I'm going to wait for NAB to make sure that there are no other surprises. I was hoping that Canon would release something in the $5k range to compete with it, but all I can tell is that they might announce their 4k camera.
