FS100, AVCHD, FCP 6 and a PowerPC Mac
All adds up to major problems.
I shot in 1080/24P 24mbps, and we cannot import the video. No conversion programs work. Not Voltaic, or any others. The NLE refuses to import any video. Anybody have any ideas? |

Have you tried converting in MPEG Streamclip yet?
FCP 6 doesn't have the AVCHD codec, if memory serves correctly.

Re: FS100, AVCHD, FCP 6 and a PowerPC Mac
I'm running FCP6 (although on a MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz and a screamin fast Hackintosh with no problems.
There is a codec pack on Apple.com with ProrRes, HQ, LT, etc... try installing those. Install Perian. This is beside the point that trying to edit this kind of footage on a PowerPC is going to be problematic. The $1299 MBP would run circles around it. Even one of the first-gen Intel processors, now available on eBay or craigslist for a few hundred bucks, would outperform your PowerPC. |

Try ClipWrap if you can't get anything else to work.
