Color Sampling 422 ?
I almost zeroed to buy this,Thinking that 422 color sampling..as it says HDMI 4:2:2 Uncompressed Output..B&H it shows under 4:2:0 along with AF100..if it so I guess My 550D is 4:2:0 color sampling..Does buying atomos or gemini is mandatory? Any good software to fix color sampling close to field recorders.

Re: Color Sampling 422 ?
The internal codec is 4;2:0, the HDMI output is 8 bit 4:2;2. With the FS 100, you won't have the line skipping and moire artifacts found on the DSLRs and the resolution is better. You don't need to buy an external recorder, although for some purposes eg shooting HD for broadcasters its an option that you may want to use for some productions.
Even the F3 doesn't record 4;2;2 internally. |

My answer... do not get fixated on numbers. Look at the images. Beautiful.
I have never seen a camera such as the FS-100 solicit so much interrogation without actually looking at the footage. |

Re: Color Sampling 422 ?
I will buy the FS100 and the Ninja as soon as the cam becomes available.
I will post some detailed comparison tests of AVCHD and ProRes HQ |
