Cranking?
Hi
Does anybody know if It is possible to change the framerate during a recording with this camera. I mean during normal recording with 24 frames/sec and with the special button change to under or over crank. With the Ex1 i have to have a separate clip with slo mo footage. Would be nice to be able to change it during the clip. Cheers! Ari |

Re: Cranking?
You definitely cannot do that with this camera or any of the XDCAMs.
Would be nice, though.

Re: Cranking?
Varicam and Epic level cameras do this, but not at the budget end. It's a case of planning your sequence and using the time ramping features in your NLE to segue between 'real' and 'slomo'. Much as I hate to say 'fix it in post'...
IIRC, there's a number of tutes demonstrating 60fps material taken to quasi 120fps in a 24fps timeline, including time remapping. To get that at 1080p is going to be pretty amazing.
