Audio issue with X70

Good morning, all! Tell me if you've ever had a problem with your X70's audio, where a single XLR input starts jumping between channel 1 and 2? I had this happen in a recent shoot and with headphones on, I could hear the audio moving from right to left and back again. Panning like that is NOT desirable. Can a loose connector cause this? Suggestions?
