LCD hood for the NX5U
I just received today the (expensive) Sony SHL-32W, the LCD hood for my NX5U. Flimsy is the word that came to my mind. Is there an alternative that may last longer and is better built than this piece made of flexible plastic and light velcro? I read the short thread from march 2010, and it was down to Hoodman or Sony. Surely there must be something else that I didn't see on the usual mail order websites...
If you have 'the' solution for shielding this LCD when used outdoors, I would appreciate you sharing your find. L |

Re: LCD hood for the NX5U
i got my NX5 a little while back and at the time looked into the possibility of a hood for the LCD unfortunately the reviews weren't too positive so i gave up on that idea, i suppose a bit of gaffer tape and some black matt card might do the trick just as well.

Re: LCD hood for the NX5U
I'm afraid that's it. Flimsy expensive plastic or home made. It's a pity that Sony can't make a decent one. From stills, Hasselblad, Rollei. Mamiya, etc... could be used as as inspiration for well-thought durable folding hoods.
