Re: Long in the tooth?

Both my Sony resellers are having time-limited specials on current models, including the NX5... I'm predicting a new model on the way to be announced mid-March in the leadup to NAB! :)

Re: Long in the tooth?

Well there is a new CX760 so I maybe a new NX76.. to match. I have both CX700 and NX5U and have several wishes for a replacement or another model in the lineup. The consumer cameras have less noise and that is something I would like improved in the NX5U, as I have said before spot focus etc would be nice too. A model to compete with the Canon XF lineup would also be good too especially if it was a larger sensor model like a 1/2" single sensor NX with the consumer features . One can wish...

Re: Long in the tooth?

Yes I saw that too. My initial response was cell phones, Cybershot and tablet cameras. Will be interesting to see what comes out in the next few months as the last release quoted was August.

Re: Long in the tooth?

The problem with a potential NX5u replacement would be, given Sony's history, an announcement at NAB, but it won't ship until late summer, early fall. I need a camera now, but would hate to have to wait. Panasonic, JVC and Canon's similar offerings are nice, but I've been on Sony cameras for over 7 years now, and I'm familiar with the menus, etc. the NX70u looks good, but I think it lacks an ND filter, as does the FS100.

Re: Long in the tooth?

Any camera that appears to lack an ND filter still has them Heath, but I know what you mean - you're after controllable ND.
