XLR Audio info
I'm just starting to play with audio on this camera.
I'm delighted with how the little XLR block works, it's festooned with buttons with control over attenuation, levels, low cut and channel selection/ With a mono mic, you can set the Ch1-Ch2 switch to send the mono track to both channels. You can then have individual control of levels on each channel - excellent. So I can set the level on channel 1 high and the level on channel 2 low, so I can deal with awkward noise situations in post by choosing the appropriate channel (so if the "high" channel clips, I can fall back to the "low" channel, for example). This is great for me. You can also put one channel on auto and manually control the other, which is interesting. Low cut and attenuation apply to both channels when you are duplicating the mono audio to both channels, which sort of makes sense. Last edited by Mike Beckett; June 16th, 2011 at 12:16 PM. |
