File Numbers?

Is there a way to have the file number to be consective instead of always starting at 00000?

Re: File Numbers?

If you use the CMU there are no file numbers . The CMU will name them by the full clips with the date and time the clip was started. I always use the CMU to transfer to the PC.

Re: File Numbers?

Do you use a card reader, or plug directly into the cam?

Re: File Numbers?

I normally use the FMU128 so will plug this into the PC for transfer.

For the FMU, I just plug it directly into the system.

For SD cards, you can do either. Card reader may give a faster transfer (depends on the reader).

Once in the system, I rename/renumber the files, Not a problem with my shooting very long clips (multi-cam event shooting). A pain if you have a lot of short clips.

If all you want is a consecutive numbering scheme, the CMU brings them in with consecutive file numbers related to date and time. Something like: 2011042182515, 2011042182516, 2011042182517 etc.

Re: File Numbers?

Chris,

When recording SD on SDHC card I fully control the video file names. I get it to start exactly with the sequence number that I need. I also decide when it is time to restart filename at 0000.

However, with FMU this is not the same, I've tried to control HD filename on the FMU and it has not been successful.

I NEVER used the CMU software and I always format all SDHC card with my computer. I must have reformatted my cards more than 3000 times and everything has been working without any problems. I own more than 30 SDHC cards (4, 8 and 16 GIG) all class 10

Best regards!

Re: File Numbers?

Thanks Daniel,

How do you control the numbering on the SD cards?
