Reversing zoom and focus rings?
Hi everyone, I decided I'd take the plunge and join the community here; seems like a friendly and knowledgable place!
I'm loving my NX5U but there is one problem. I've been a Nikon SLR user for about 15 years and ring rotation direction on this cam is driving my nuts! It's been second nature over the years to spin clockwise to zoom out and move focus out and vice versa, now this camera comes along totally throws off my knack. I know the iris ring can be reversed but that means nothing to me; I've not been using an iris over the years. Is there any way known to switch the direction of these functions? |

Re: Reversing zoom and focus rings?
Hi Sam, I just looked through the NX5 operator's manual and couldn't
find any indication that the focus and zoom rings can be reversed (though the iris ring can, so it's kind of strange that the others can't). On the Canon XH, XL H and XF series camcorders, all three rings I, Z, F can reverse their rotational direction via the Custom Function menu. I'm not sure why Sony doesn't offer this as well... unless I'm missing something? Anyway, welcome to DV Info Net. |
