Introducing myself
I live in Johannesburg and I am an amateur videographer, in the true sense of the word.
A little over a year ago, while on holiday in Cape Town, I decided to buy a video camera. After some looking around I bought the Sony HDR-XR500. This turned out to be a really great camera. With it I have filmed two weddings as well as an off road trip in the Kalahari. Over time my interest in videography just grew and grew. Two weeks ago I ordered the Sony HXR-NX5. It was with great anticipation that I waited for its arrival - like a young boy getting his first bike. However, great was the disappointment when I was finally able to compare footage from the NX5 with that from the XR500. The XR500 simply outclassed the NX5. It was then that I decided to seek help, in the form of NX5 settings, on the internet. It is this search that brought me here. Great was my amazement to see that I am not the only one that think the small handicams can hold their own against the bigger cameras. I have an airshow lined up this month, a trip to Portugal in June and a wedding booked for September. There is much to learn and I shall be fielding some questions from time to time. Your patience will be appreciated. Kind regards to all. Eugene Rohland Last edited by Eugene Rohland; May 6th, 2011 at 10:40 AM. Reason: grammar ! |
