Best shutter speed for 25p?
Dude: what's the best shutter speed for 25p on an AX-2000?
50fps, 25fps... I'm doing tests, but I don't find the correct speed. Thanks. |

The best shutter speed is 1/50th sec for PAL work. Go slower and you gain a stop at the expense of smoothness. Go faster and you lose a stop, ditto.

Hummm, thanks. I read a lot, and 50 is the recommend speed.
But the AUTO speed in 25p is 25. (???) More than 50 is very "estroboscopic". Less than 50 is little estroboscopic. 25 is little blur. 50i at 50 is perfect. I have to learn to shoot in 25p, pan and tilt is different. |

If the camera is defaulting to 1/25th, then most likely you're either shooting in the dark, have auto-gain set to 0db, have the ND filters activated or a combination of the above.
1/50th is the default standard but you can vary that depending on circumstances and what look you are after. |

Thanks a lot.
I have recorded with good light, at 1/25 and 1/50, and the results are quite similar. I will shoot 1/50 and if I need light I will go to 1/25. |
