Nine Lives - 48 Hour Film Project
My entry in the 48 Hour Film Project New Orleans we shot this weekend. Shot on Sony AX2000, using available light in a working shop. We had to stop every few minutes to let customers pass through and buy their knick-knacks. Imported 32GB of raw footage into Premiere CS5 and edited quite smoothly.
Genre: Buddy Film Prop: Folding Chair Character: Joanne Miler, CEO Line: "He said he would be right back." Enjoy! |

Wow, that was very enjoyable.
I can't believe you could put something like that together in 48 hours. The camera moves were very good, the acting was too and the editing was tight. I really liked it. Not sure how it was received by the judges because it may not have been perceived as a buddy film abd the CEO role was a throwaway, but technically and creatively I think you did an awesome job and so did your cast and crew. I've been thinking about putting a team together and entering one of the contests, but that's as far as I've gone. Bob, you may have inspired me to get moving. Thanks! Did you win? How was the competition? Can you suggest sources for tips? BTW, NOLA is my favorite city to visit. My wife and I love it, love the people, and especially th food. |

Yeah, the CEO thing was a throwaway line, but... we forgot all about that character in the script so called the first person Joanne. But if you look closely, she was wearing a suit, so... CEO! Her "buddies" were all of her imaginary friends, but who knows if that'll come across to the judges. We find out the winners this weekend.
I think we have a chance at best use of the line of dialogue and maybe an Audience Award.. we'll have to see. It was a blast! This is the second year we've participated. Each time, there are some really outstanding films, some not so outstanding, and some gosh-awful ones! The judges pick their winners. What the criteria is... I've no idea! Again, it's just wait and see! Thanks for the comments! |
