Black Levels
I was a long time Panny user before making the jump to the Sony NXCAM. I'm extremely happy with the NX5U and have no real complaints. I shoot a good amount of corporate meetings and black pipe/drape is the norm. I find myself adjusting black Ievel in post so these drape do not look over exposed.
Has anyone found the sweet spot to getting black to be black? |

Agreed
Ive also been having similar problems where all my clips with black bgs look dark grayish. I'm always having to boost the contrast in post. Does anyone have any good picture profile settings for deeper blacks/high contrast?

7.5 is only for analogue. Digital is always 0.
In Edius I use the YUV filter to bring the blacks down to 0 to match the output from the SR11 and XR500 that I also use. I too find the level a little high on my NX5U. Ron Evans |
