How to get audio from both internal and external mic at the same time?
Folks,
I'm new to the Sony NX5U, unlike my previous camera XL2 the NX5U comes with both internal and external mics. From reading the manual it didn't make sense to me so if I may ask 1 question: To use both internal mic and external mic at the same time what channel setting I should be on? Thank you Allan |

I found it a bit confusing too Allan. On the side of the camera where the audio controls are, you need to set the options for both channel 1 and channel 2. If you have your shotgun plugged into the Input 1 jack, then put the slider for Channel 1 to INPUT 1. That will send your shotgun signal to Channel 1. Then set the Channel 2 slider to the INT MIC setting. That will send your internal mic signal to Channel 2. Then for both channels you have the options of manual or auto levels.
If you change mics and audio configurations, be sure to pay close attention to those settings audio controls. It's easy to plug in an XLR audio input and then forget to set the slider positions.
