How Do I Transfer My Footage
OK...I recorded on my NXCAM 128GB Flash Memory for 3 straight hours. I cannot transfer the entire clip. I have tried everything! For instance, I purchased NeoScene from Cineform and it broke all my footage up into segments (that's cool)...however, every other clip did was messed up (i.e., clip 138 was excellent...clip 139 audio was transcoded slow on the final footage with the video was in slow motion, etc.) So, I decided to use iMovie and it transcoded 30 minutes of the clip with an error. My machine (Mac) has 6 gigs of memory, 4 TB of hard drive, OS 10.5.8...etc. I EVEN DOWNLOADED THE TRAIL VERSION OF VEGAS AND I GET A LOW ON MEMORY WITH ON MY LAPTOP AND ON MY DESKTOP MAC (ON PARALLELS) WHEN TRYING TO BRING IN THIS FOOTAGE.
HELP!! I need this footage ASAP! |

On a PC use the supplied Sony Content Management software and clips will come across as complete clips( between start and stop) and not files. ie a 1 hour clip will come across as 1 hour file. I am on a PC so do not know if this utility will work running Windows on the MAC but this is the best way to get the complete file structure and meta data. The utility will also log all the other information such as GPS etc and place in directories and display in this directory format or on a calendar. For me a must use utility.

Travis,
What NLE are you using on the Mac to edit with? With FCP 7.0, Log and Transfer works fine. It brings the footage in, in ProRes 422. Steve |
