My timings were based on individual transcodes. Now just did a test of three short clips totalling a duration of 1min 43secs. Took 26.5s to transcode on the MacPro.

With longer events like weddings it still transcodes quicker than realtime on the MacPro. It has 8 cores. The laptop and imac are dual cores. Might try a test sometime soon comparing the speed it takes the same batch of clips on both the MacPro & MacBook Pro to transcode. Should be a huge difference considering the massive gap in tech specs.
