Price Difference
I was checking prices at that NY video retailer we all know and noticed that the price difference between the AX2000 and the NX5U (with the FMU included) is a mere $500 (After a rebate, of course). The MSRPs are nowhere near that.
I honestly see no point in purchasing the AX2000 given that small margin and the fact that the NX5U offers many more professional features. Is that expected to change once pre-orders end? |

Well the rebate on the FMU is only through the end of next month see we'll see.
And pre orders are moot right now, as B&H just announced that the NX5 is now in stock. |

In-Stock is a welcome change.
Either way, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the price difference. Initial press releases from Sony had me wondering if the NX5U with the FMU would be worth a $2000 difference. |

Considering one gets a short shotgun mic with the NX5U, the price difference for such loss of capability amounts to just a few dollars. I got the NX5U as it made a lot more sense.
