No LANC control for NX5U?
Okay - I'm very interested in this product and I've been thinking of several ways to rationalize it's purchase, but one nagging issue I've got is the apparent lack of LANC controller support. I use a Varizoom VZRock controller on my Sony HVR-V1U with excellent results (soft touch zoom control from the tripod pan bar). Can anyone enlighten me here - or is the "Sony Command Control Unit" the only external interface for focus, zoom and record control?

The AX2000/NX5 both have LANC control ability.
Check out the B&H web pages and you will see it under specifications. |

Thanks for clearing that up - I didn't see any reference to it in the user manual or Sony sales literature, but I'm glad to know it's there!

Tried to find the plug for the LANC on my NX5. Where the hell is it hidden?

Heiner, it's on top of the handgrip next to the 7th assignable button. The plug is hidden by a small rubber flap.

To add my .02... I've had a Varizoom VZ-Rock controller for my PD-170 and recently used it with an AX2000. The LANC jack is on the handle right below the "Assign 7" button. Worls like a champ. The Varizoom rocker has been, and will continue to be, a GREAT add-on for any camera I own/use!

My Zoe works well too, but the on/off doesn't. I like that - there were times when I'd turn the Z1 off rather than dropping into record.
