Anyone know...
...If the VG20 can be used as a webcam? 'Cause it would be super sweet if it could.

Re: Anyone know...
How are you thinking of hooking it up? HDMI? Component? It's probably overkill for a "webcam", but should be "possible" I would think, with the right input and software on the computer.

I'm just recording it, then putting it on a timeline. Not as easy, but what's ya gonna do?

Re: Anyone know...
With an Intensity Pro on the latest drivers and Xsplit, it is possible. The computer takes the Xsplit output as a webcam.

Re: Anyone know...
Let me answer my own question:
Sometimes I forget that the VG20 has composite out. It's not super great quality, but it works. I use an older "Dazzle" video breakout box which connect to my PC via a USB cable. I hook the 20's composite & audio cables into it and BAM! it records just fine. Before I was recording mu bumpers, then putting the car into a reader, then uploading it, then accessing it with Vegas. So I save a couple of steps. BTW, you can see the end results at my "tv station" at: evilgeniusentertanment.com We're looking for original horror, scifi, or action flicks - full length or shorts. |
