Sony Alpha A65 test footage by Johnnie
Dear friends.
Here is a short "no budget, instant" music clip I shot with the yet to be released Sony Alpha A-65 as a test while having it for a day. A bit more info on the vimeo page. Will post my thoughts regarding the camera later this week. Music: “forever- a while” by Angel of Sona, Angel named SONA Thanks for watching. Johnnie

Interested in your feelings on the 24Mpixel sensor on this camera and if you had any overheating issues. Also if perhaps you've shot with an a580 or A55 and could compare the two.
I know it's tough with a pre-production cam vs. a released model, and I'm sure Sony is still fine tuning this new sensor... but looking at the NEX7 and the A65 upgrade path if the new sensor scores a knockout vs. the 16Mpixel one! |

Thanks. Looks like the resolution and aliasing problems are about the same as all the other DSLRs.

Johnnie
Thanks for posting this; well done, especially given no budget. Looks like this camera is very promising. I presume this was recorded using the AVCHD codec at 28 mbps. Unfortunately, after all the processing, and presumably Vimeo had a hand in there, the finished product, at least on my 24” computer monitor, exhibits a lot of what appears to be macro-blocking, unfortunately, enough to be quite distracting and your craftsmanship, clearly not inconsiderable, gets lost, or at least unfairly diminished. I note that the downloaded file is a measly 5 mbps. Care to comment on this? Cheers. |
