I'm not sure it's realistic to expect a f2.0 20-100mm zoom in APS-C/S35 size from any lens manufacturer anytime soon...

Re: Sony MAY announce on August 24
Agreed. Nikon and Canon offer no intermediate zoom that has that range for either APS-C or FF. Best you can hope for is something along the lines of 24-70 f/2.8.
I was surprised when I saw some faster zooms for the GH1/GH2, but then again, its not the size of APS-C, let alone full frame. |

Never mind one that most folks considering this form factor would consider AFFORDABLE...

Here's the VG20 image, if you believe the article. Looks a lot like the VG10.
And the A77. Very nice looking camera. sonyalpharumors | Blog | Categories | Rumors |

Re: Sony MAY announce on August 24
16MP Exmor sensor -- wheee
RAW image capture capabilities -- who cares on a video camera Touch screen -- could be a big deal Improved audio controls 1920×1080 24p, 60i and 60p video capabilities (AVCHD 2.0) -- will it be native p24 and p60? Is the 60i from a 60Hz sensor. I assume this all good news. Price should be the same as the current VG-10. Too expensive if I get everything on the NEX-5 for about half the price. The NEX-7 might even offer more at $1300.

Re: Sony MAY announce on August 24
The A77 can record 1080/60P and 24P, like the VG20. I believe the NEX-7 can, too.
Are they viable options to the VG20? The A77 can record up to 30 minutes of continuous HD video. But will it be susceptible to overheating, like most HDSLRs? That would be a major drawback to me, especially here in sunny Florida. |

Never mind the NX5 having an uprated sensor - let's just give it a decent top screen first, shall we? And while we're at it, can we have a font size bigger than the 1mm high icons we have at present?

What's your problem with the LCD?
And there is a great new VF.
